Final preparations are now being made for test drives on the T2 tram line, which is the project of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality 'to bring the rail system together with the north of the city'. While the last connections are made before energizing and acceptance on the Kent Square - Terminal Line, it is planned that the test drives will be completed in May and passenger flights will start in June.
Work has accelerated on the City Square-Terminal tram line, designed by the Metropolitan Municipality in line with the goal of knitting the city with iron nets. With the integration of the T9 line, which has a total length of 445 meters and 11 stations, to the T2 line, the Sculpture-Terminal was connected to each other by rails. Within the scope of the works, all the internal equipment of the 1 transformer buildings along the line for energy supply were supplied and assembled. Currently, final connections are made on the line before energizing and acceptance. In addition, a total of 6 escalators and 9 elevators in 25 stations and the overpass corridors of the stations were opened to pedestrian access.
Test drives begin
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that the final touches are now being made both on the line and at the stations on the Kent Square - Terminal line, where there was a significant delay in the construction process for various reasons. Expressing that the test drives will start in May, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are now close to the end of the work on the City Square - Terminal line, which has a length of approximately 9,5 kilometers and has 11 stations. After the test drives, I hope we will start passenger flights in June. With the integration of the T2 and T1 lines, we will be connecting the Statue and the Terminal. Thus, our citizens who get on the tram from Sculpture will be able to reach the terminal without interruption.
