Güllaç is one of the indispensable tastes of Ramadan. It is possible to easily reach this delicacy at home.

Classic Güllaç recipe

Healthy Life Coach Meltem Demir, who gives recipes for those who want to make Güllaç at home, listed the ingredients as "10 Güllaç leaves, 8 glasses of milk, 2 glasses of granulated sugar, 1,5 glasses of walnuts, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon".

Demir's recipe is as follows: “Take the milk in the pot and add the sugar. Heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and remove from the heat. Let it cool until it reaches a consistency that will not burn your pinky finger. Wet 5 gullaç leaves one by one with milk and cut them into pieces in a medium-sized bowl. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on it and wet the remaining Güllaç and place it on it. Drizzle the remaining milk mixture on top and sprinkle with cinnamon, garnish with the seasonal fruits of your choice and serve.”

For those who want sugar free

Meltem Demir also shared a recipe for those who do not want to use sugar. The necessary ingredients for this recipe are 5 rosemary leaves, 1 glass of honey, 5 glasses of hot milk, 2 kiwis, 1 banana, 5 strawberries, half a glass of honey, and the juice of a quarter of a lemon.

Stating that the fruits should be chopped into small pieces and mixed with honey in a bowl, Demir said: “Boil the milk in a saucepan and add the honey close to boiling, 1-2 drops of lemon juice. Cut a gullac leaf into four. Take the milk mixture in a tray. Dip out the gullac leaves and spread them on a flat surface. Place it from the inner material and wrap it loosely in the form of a leaf wrap. Repeat this process until the material is finished. Then cut into rectangles and serve.”
