Arrangements were made to provide cheap meat in Ramadan

In order to provide cheap meat to consumers, to protect the breeder and consumer, and to prevent price fluctuations in the market, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Meat and Dairy Institution (ESK) will make a support payment of 2 thousand 500 liras per cattle slaughtered, sold or made to be made during the month of Ramadan.

The Presidential Decision on the Regulation of the Meat Market was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force as of 2 April.

The decision was prepared in order to contribute to the sustainability of livestock activities, to protect the breeder and the consumer, to prevent price fluctuations in the market and to regulate the red meat market for the month of Ramadan within the scope of public benefit.

Accordingly, in order to prevent the balance in red meat prices from deteriorating to the detriment of the producer and the consumer, 2 thousand 1 liras will be paid to the breeders per cattle slaughtered and sold by the IHC in the month of Ramadan covering the 2 April-500 May period. Payments will be made in return for the summary to be prepared by the IHC.

Slaughter and sale of cattle will be done and will be done within the framework of the criteria to be determined by the IHC.

The wet signed and approved icmal, which includes the slaughtered animals and the breeder's information, will be prepared by the IHC and sent to the General Directorate of Livestock (HAYGEM) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The ESK will be responsible for the accuracy of the information contained in the prepared summary.

HAYGEM will check the summary from the IHC in terms of the number of slaughtered animals and the amount of support and transfer it to the account of the breeders through Ziraat Bank within the framework of budget possibilities.

The necessary resources for the payments to be made within the scope of the decision will be allocated from the agricultural support budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the year 2022.

CHEAP MEAT OPPORTUNITY IN RAMADAN

Support payments to the growers on the subject will be made after the necessary resources are transferred to the bank by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, by sending the icmals to Ziraat Bank in electronic environment.

0,2 percent of the paid amount will be paid separately to Ziraat Bank as a commission.

Since the support payments made within the scope of the decision are public resources, they cannot be subject to foreclosure, execution and assignment transactions before they are transferred to the account of the progress payment owner.

The execution of the provisions of the decision will be under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
