The fortieth of a total of 100 Sgrms type platform wagons manufactured for our General Directorate by TÜRASAŞ Sivas Regional Directorate has been delivered. A ceremony was held in Sivas for the delivery of the wagons. TCDD Transportation General Manager Hasan Pezük, TÜRASAŞ General Manager Mustafa Metin Yazar, TCDD General Manager Metin Akbaş and TÜRASAŞ employees attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, TCDD Transportation General Manager Hasan Pezük said that a significant amount of investment has been made in railways in the last 20 years, and as a result of these investments, records have been broken constantly in both passenger and freight transportation. In the statements of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Pezuk said that the investments made in the railway crossed the highway and said, “We are following the Transport Master plan announced by our Minister. In line with this planning, these 40 wagons, the first batch of which we will add to our vehicle fleet, will contribute to the increase in our transportation and will add strength to our fleet. A total of 60 wagons, together with the 100 wagons we will receive in the future, will enable us to meet the demand for container transport wagons. In addition, seeing these wagons, which are completely domestically designed and produced, under load on the roads will give us a special pride. TÜRASAŞ has always been a solution partner for our industry, and we will continue to increase our cooperation, which we have successfully carried out so far. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed to these vehicles, and I congratulate the Ramadan holidays in advance.”
TÜRASAŞ General Manager, Mustafa Metin Yazar, stated that Turkish Railways has a deep-rooted history of 166 years, that the factories working under different names for this sector were united under the same roof as TÜRASAŞ, and that they will produce for the sector from now on as they have done so far. The General Manager Writer continued his words as follows: “The container wagons we have delivered to the General Directorate of TCDD Transportation will carry Turkey's load. It is a separate source of pride for us that we produce these wagons with completely domestic and national means. We continue to work day and night so that we can see more domestic and national production vehicles on the rails for the development of the railway industry. May the roads of our wagons be open and bring abundance and blessings to our country and our people.”
Sgrms type wagons, which are produced in TÜRASAŞ and set out, have a carrying capacity of 2 45' containers and are among the most popular freight wagons, especially in Europe. The wagons, which are produced with tare lightened and reinforced, have a tare of 25.700 Kg and a carrying capacity of 109.300 Kg.
