Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, members of the Turkish Motorcycle Platform in Istanbul Kadıköy He attended the meeting in Pier Square. Karaismailoğlu, who later participated in the Motorist Friendly Safe Barrier Event held at the Kınalı location of the Northern Marmara Highway, made a statement here. Saying, "As the Ministry, we are struggling to make the infrastructure and superstructure of our roads meticulously and to maximize the safety of life and property in traffic," said Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, in this context, they have established the "Motorcycle Protective Guardrail Systems" on the highways, the number of positions and He said they also increased their length.

OUR MOTORCYCLES CONSIST OF 15% OF TRAFFIC REGISTERED VEHICLES

Karaismailoğlu said, “Our 'Motorcycle Protective Guardrail' systems on highways are aimed at reducing the severity of crashes at the time of the accident. We place these guardrails in areas where motorcycle accidents are concentrated and where risks are high. According to the end of 2021 data, our motorcycles constitute a significant 25 percent of the 15 million vehicles registered to the traffic. This means 3,8 million motorcycles registered on the highways. Unfortunately, accidents shake us all and make us think. We want to fight this, we don't want to lose a single brother. We all have great responsibilities. We know very well that we need to increase the motorcycle-friendly barrier applications that ensure road safety in order to reduce accidents.”

THE NUMBER OF WHEELS ON OUR VEHICLES DOESN'T GIVE US PRIORITY AND PASSING SUPERIORITY

Pointing out that more than 13 thousand meters of motorcycle protective guardrail systems have been installed on the most risky lines and points according to the analysis of the accident detection reports of the highways, Karaismailoğlu announced that they are planning a guardrail system close to 40 thousand meters this year, and that they will increase this much more. Addressing all other vehicle drivers on the highways, Minister of Transport Adil Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“On highways, our vehicles of all types and models have common usage rights. The number of wheels on our vehicles does not give us priority and passability. The mirror system, which sees the blind spots on the sides of especially large vehicles, should be expanded. The electronic shopping and door-to-door delivery system, which has a certain prevalence in our country, has increased exponentially during the covid-19 pandemic process. I heartily congratulate our precious couriers who take their food and all their needs to their doorstep during this period when people cannot even go out on the street. This is a work of consciousness. We will continue to support all kinds of activities to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of all our drivers on this issue. With its truck, automobile, bus and motorcycle, you are the indispensable actors of our highways. We apply the most advanced control and control systems of smart transportation systems on our newly built highways on a 7/24 basis. It is our right, yours, and our entire country's right to reduce accidents, reduce loss of life and injuries, or even not have them at all, and to travel quickly, safely and comfortably. Our right does not mean usurping someone else's right. Traffic never tolerates negligence, inattention, and irregularity. The cost is heavy and unbearable.”

Expressing that they are working hard with all units and ministries to spread this awareness in Turkey, Karaismailoğlu stated that they will continue to increase the opportunities for coordination and joint work between all units in order to further the activities in this direction. Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu said, "We will spread this awareness even more, shoulder to shoulder with our driver brothers."
