Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with the Touch a Life Association, will organize a "Combating Addiction" summit on March 10, 2022 at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center. Official institutions and universities working in this field will discuss the studies and methods carried out in the fight against addiction.
A "Zero Loss in Fight Against Addiction" summit will be held in Izmir with the cooperation of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Touch a Life Association. At the summit to be held at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center on March 10, the work carried out by universities and public institutions in the fight against addiction will be discussed. The program will be held at 10.00:16.30, by the President of Touch a Life Association, Dr. Burcu Bostancıoğlu will start with the opening speech. The summit, which will last until XNUMX, is organized in line with the goal of ensuring social integration of disadvantaged individuals and a sustainable healthy future.
The fight against addiction will be discussed in two sessions
In the first session of the summit, Konak District Governorship will inform about the status of the addiction problem in the district borders, the risk situation on the basis of neighborhoods and the possibilities for solutions. Ege University Substance Abuse, Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Sciences Institute, Department of Addiction Toxicology, Prof. Dr. Serap Annette Akgür, the relationship between the active ingredients of drugs and addiction, Specialist from İzmir Katip Çelebi University AMATEM Unit. Başak Bağcı will make presentations on the topics of "Struggles Against Addiction", Evren Yonar from Izmir Probation Directorate, "DSM Criminal Responsibility and Social Inclusion Processes in Combating Addiction", Abdullah Tokmakçı from Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, "The Role of Sports in Combating Addiction".
The role of education will be discussed
In the second session of the summit, Psychologist Ali Çokluk from the Provincial Directorate of National Education, “The Role of Formal and Non-Formal Education in Combating Substance Addiction”, Görkem Engin from the Provincial Police Department, “Work Carried out within the Scope of Combating Drugs: Best Narcotic Police: Mother Project”, Fatma Cici from the Provincial Directorate of İş Kura, “Importance in Ensuring Employment in the Fight Against Addiction”, Burak Engin from the Provincial Directorate of SGK, “The Importance of Social Security in the Fight Against Addiction and the Studies Done”, Mehlika Gökmen from the Izmir Journalists Association, "The Importance of the Media in the Fight against Addiction" Role and Responsibilities” will be discussed.
The target is to reach 24 young people
In the project called “Zero Loss in Fight Against Addiction” initiated by the Touch a Life Association 11 months ago, it is aimed to reach 24 young people who are liable for probation. It is desired to bring 24 individuals to the sector and to reach different individuals in similar processes by creating a multiplier effect of the project. The project is supported by the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Interior. Touch a Life Association has been carrying out projects and studies since 2014 for the integration of disadvantaged individuals into society and for a healthy, productive and sustainable society.
