After the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) announced that the vehicle loan limit was increased, the second-hand automotive market is also starting to move with the increase in the number of maturities. The increase in new vehicle prices leads the consumer to the second hand again. Turkey's leading used car advertisement platform,, shared the interesting second hand advertisement data of February. In February, vehicles in the range of 2 TL – 100.000 TL were mostly seen in the advertisements and these were 150.000, 2016 and 2012 model vehicles. 2017 categories, 5 brands, 10 car models and years, 10 off-road/SUV/Pick-up models, fuel types, gear types, engine volumes, km. The analysis of my used, categorized according to basic data such as values, is as follows:

In February, 68% of the ads on were cars. Automobiles were followed by light commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles, commercial vehicles and motorcycles. Advertisements such as tractors and agricultural machinery were included in the 2% segment.

Top 10 Brands and Models Advertised in February

In the advertisements given on, the top of the list was Fiat brand in February. This brand was followed by Renault, Volkswagen, Ford, Opel, Hyundai, Peugeot, Toyota, Citroen and Honda, respectively.

Looking at the ads in terms of models, the most advertised car models in February were Clio, Megane, Astra and Focus. These four models were followed by Corolla and Passat, respectively.

February Rates of Brands in All-terrain, SUV and Pick-Up Body Types

Considering the proportional evaluation of the 2nd hand Land/SUV/Pick-up ads published on, the highest number of ads was Dacia Duster with 19%. This vehicle was followed by Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, and Peugeot 3008, respectively.

The Most Ads for 2016, 2012 and 2017 Model Vehicles were Posted in February

The vehicles with the highest number of advertisements on in February were the models of 7,2 with a rate of 2016%. This was followed by 2012 and 2017 model vehicles, respectively. Vehicles from 2000 and earlier, on the other hand, made up 13,8% of the advertisements.

Distribution of Ads by Engine Size

It is observed that engines under 1.6 are more preferred in second-hand vehicle purchases in February, as the fuel consumption and MTV amounts increase as the engine volume increases. Vehicle advertisements with engine volumes between 2 - 1.2 and 1.4-1.4 attracted more attention. Vehicles with an engine displacement between 1.6 and 1.2 accounted for 1.4% of the advertisements, while vehicles with engine displacements between 28 and 1.4 constituted 1.6% of the advertisements. The rate of advertisements with an engine volume of 52 cm2001 and above remained at 3%.

Distribution of Ads by Price Range

Vehicles in the range of 16,2 TL – 100 TL took the highest share with 000%. Vehicles in the range of 150.000 TL – 150.000 TL made up 200.000% of the advertisements. Vehicle announcement rates of 14,6 TL and above were 350.000%.

Distribution of Ads by Gear Type

It is seen that the largest share in the distribution of advertisements by transmission type is for manual transmission vehicles. Manual transmission vehicles made up 66% of the advertisements, and semi-automatic transmission vehicles made up 15% of the advertisements. The advertisement rate of automatic transmission vehicles is 19%.

Distribution of Ads by Fuel Type

When ads were analyzed by fuel type, the rate of diesel vehicles was 53,59%. LPG vehicles took the second place with a rate of 25,25%. Gasoline vehicles, on the other hand, made up 20,87% of the advertisements. Gasoline vehicles were followed by electric and hybrid vehicles, respectively.

Vehicles with High Kilometers and Affordable Budgets were Preferred in February

Ads in the second hand market in February are at most 150.000 km - 200.000 km. given for vehicles between, this km. The announcement rate of the vehicles in the range was 25%. Affordable, high mileage vehicles are in demand. 50.000 km. – 100.000 km. and 100.000 km. – 150.000 km. The announcement rates of the vehicles in the range were 17%, 200.000 km. – 300.000 km. The announcement rate of the vehicles in the range was 10%.
