Tokat New Airport was opened with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu pointed out that with Tokat New Airport they added a new one to their giant service and works chain, and said that they increased the passenger capacity at the new airport to 2 million.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the opening ceremony of Tokat New Airport; “We are proud and happy to open Tokat New Airport in a short period of one week, after the 18 Çanakkale Bridge and Malkara-Çanakkale Highway, which we opened on March 1915. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, every project we produce; for our nation to increase its comfort and quality of life, to provide new employment opportunities and for the holistic development of our country. We are achieving our goals one by one with our investments and plans that we have realized with the support of our nation. We are working hard to turn Turkey into the world's greatest power in the Middle Corridor," he said.

Karaismailoğlu stated that they continue to take the necessary steps with great determination to grow Turkey on the basis of investment, production, exports and employment, and to move it to 2053 and 2071 targets, and continued his speech as follows:

“We put into service one by one projects that remained on the agenda, some of which were outdated for a century and a half, some for half a century, and some for 20. Marmaray, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Osmangazi Bridge, Eurasia Tunnel, Camlica Tower, Istanbul Airport, Filyos Port, High Speed ​​​​Train Lines, Izmir-Istanbul, Ankara-Niğde and Northern Marmara Motorways, and finally the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. We have completed it and put it at the service of our nation. While someone continues to talk as usual, we continue to produce services and build the future Turkey arm in arm with our nation. In 80 years, we have covered many times more than Turkey has not covered in 20 years. We have largely solved Turkey's infrastructure problem that has been going on for years. our country; We have transformed it into an international corridor in every mode of transportation between Asia, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and the Caucasus and the Northern Black Sea countries.”

Expressing that there is a golden age in the aviation industry, Karaismailoğlu pointed out that with the air transportation policies and activities carried out, it has become one of the fastest developing countries in the world. Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they are continuing rapidly to Çukurova, Bayburt-Gümüşhane, Rize-Artvin and Yozgat Airports, said, “We said that there will be no place in the world that we cannot reach, and we have achieved this goal to a large extent. Today, our country has turned into one of the world's largest global transit centers in aviation. Istanbul Airport, which is our biggest and most important aviation investment, became the busiest airport in Europe in 36 with more than 2021 million passengers.

WE INCREASED PASSENGER CAPACITY TO 2 MILLION PASSENGERS

Saying "Tokat New Airport is one of the fruits of the seeds sown", Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the airport:

“With our new airport with a total investment cost of 1 billion 200 million TL; We increased the passenger capacity to 2 million passengers. We built a modern terminal building with an aesthetic architecture of 16 square meters. We increased the size of the check-in hall to 200 square meters. We increased the number of check-in counters to 1520. We increased the apron area to over 12 thousand square meters. We increased the aircraft parking area capacity to 458, including 5 passengers and 2 cargo. We increased the car parking capacity reserved for our visitors coming to our airport from 7 vehicles to 60 vehicles. We increased the runway length to 633 x 2700 meters and turned it into a ground where larger planes can land. We have built a fully-fledged modern airport in Tokat with no shortcomings.”
