SAVING-FOCUSED RECYCLING PROJECTS ARE EXPANDING IN BAŞKENT

The Metropolitan Municipality, which recycles idle iron and wood materials into the economy, has made an unused EGO bus reusable for a different purpose with a savings-oriented sample project.

Head of Environmental Protection and Control Department Tolga Kepir, who stated that free wi-fi service will be provided with the electric solar panels placed on the buses, gave the following information:

“We took delivery of the 16-meter articulated bus, which was scrapped by EGO, and re-modified it by evaluating the tree branches pruned from the parks and all materials suitable for transformation. We turned the EGO bus, which has completed its economic life, into an open-air class in our own workshop, with our own resources and craftsmen. We provide electricity with solar energy in the living space we have created for students. We also provide free wi-fi service on our bus. Our students will have the opportunity to study in a safe environment while being alone with nature. In short, our aim is to create awareness of recycling and to integrate it with art. We get very positive feedback about these works.”
