As one week of the Russian occupation of Ukraine is coming to an end, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov made important statements on Facebook. Reznikov said that the course has changed in the areas where there is still conflict and that the Russian army units have started to lose.
“The Russian invaders are trying to somehow preserve the combat effectiveness of their troops. But for the Russian side, the current situation is getting worse. The fact that groups of Russian soldiers and officers are constantly being caught is evidence for this situation. During the occupation, Russia targeted peaceful cities with long-range missiles because it was afraid to come into hot contact in certain regions. Missiles and air strikes from Russia and Belarus bombarded schools, hospitals and residences instead of hitting military points. This is a cowardly approach. The relatives of the Russian soldiers who were captured or killed by the Ukrainian side as a result of the conflicts have already started to protest against Russia. Russia's propaganda began to crumble. In addition, the barracks and nearby houses of the 95th Brigade located in Jitomir (a city of Ukraine) and stationed at the Environmental Protection Agency were hit. The Kremlin will not achieve the desired result by attacking the women and children of our soldiers. Most of our cities and villages are currently suffering from Russian terror, most notably the Kharkiv, Mariupol and Kherson regions. However, although we have Ukrainian citizens belonging to different languages and religions, they are fighting heroically against this occupation. Today I am proud of all those who protect their homes from Russian occupation. I bow my head to those who gave their lives. We will definitely win this war!” made statements.
Also, referring to the increase in aid received, Reznikov announced that more Stinger and javelin missiles will be supplied to Ukraine, new Bayraktar TB2s were delivered to Ukraine and they are actively used in the battlefield. He also underlined that Europe supports Ukraine and that the number of countries providing support has increased over time. At the end of his statement, Reznikov, who announced that he had a meeting with the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin a very short time ago, stated that the US side was pleased with the resistance of every unit and people that took a defensive role against the occupation in Ukraine.
