Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that one of the most important projects carried out by TAI is the National Combat Aircraft Project, which is of extremely critical importance for Turkey, and said, “TAI will carry out the design and software studies of the National Combat Aircraft Project in Antalya with the R&D center it will establish. ” said.

Minister Varank, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) General Manager Temel Kotil, Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan and the protocol members opened the Antalya Teknokent R&D 5 Building Office and TUSAŞ National Combat Aircraft R&D office. Varank said that they want to make Antalya one of the centers of agriculture, tourism and technology as well as the sun. Stating that they have taken important steps in this direction and that TAI will use this place as a center, Varank stated that the software of the TUSAŞ National Combat Aircraft will be made in Antalya.

After the speeches, Varank opened the offices by cutting ribbons with his entourage, then went to the meeting room and attended the "National Combat Aircraft R&D and Design Center Field Allocation Signing Ceremony" held between Antalya Teknokent and TAI.

Explaining that TAI is one of the apple of Turkey's eyes in the defense industry, Varank said, "TUSAS has its signature in successful works that the whole world is talking about in the field of defense industry, space and aviation, from Hürkuş to Atak helicopters, from Aksungur to Gökbey. One of the most important projects carried out by TAI is the National Combat Aircraft Project, which is an extremely critical issue for our country. With the contract to be signed, one leg of this project is moving to Antalya. TAI will carry out the design and software studies of the National Combat Aircraft Project in Antalya, with the R&D center it will establish here.” used the expressions.

8TH MOST SUCCESSFUL TECHNOKENT

Emphasizing that Antalya is one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey with its climate, tourism and social opportunities, Varank said that they will use these features of the city to strengthen the country's R&D ecosystem. Explaining that engineers from many countries, especially from Europe, will come to Turkey to work on this project, Varank emphasized that Antalya Teknokent is the eighth most successful technocity in Turkey according to the Technopolis Performance index.

800 R&D PROJECTS

Varank stated that 365 R&D projects have been completed so far, and more than two hundred projects continue to be carried out in the technopolis, which is home to 100 companies with 162 percent occupancy rate in an area of ​​800 thousand square meters. Explaining that Antalya Technopolis will add strength to TAI, Varank said, “I hope the National Combat Aircraft Project will gain altitude from our Antalya. I wish the exemplary cooperation between Antalya Teknokent and TUSAŞ to be beneficial for Turkey. I hope that the success model that will be formed here will open the door to new projects.” he said.

400 ENGINEERS WILL BE EMPLOYED

TUSAŞ General Manager Temel Kotil stated that they have primarily employed 80 people and emphasized that they signed the protocol and that 400 engineers will be employed in Antalya with the new building.

Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan also stated that the city is a center of health, tourism and agriculture, but that their next goal is to turn it into a software center.

After the speeches, Minister Varank, Kotil and Rector Özkan signed the protocol. Varank examined the projects that are in the incubation stage in the technopolis and got information from the engineers.

Minister Varank then examined the work of the Japanese company on the breeding of products such as pepper, cucumber, tomato, eggplant and melon.
