The attempts made by the Mayor of Kartepe, Attorney M. Mustafa Kocaman, for the reopening of Derbent Train Station, which was closed due to signaling work in May 2019 and has not been opened until today, yielded results. Derbent Train Station will start to serve as of Friday, March 11th.
Kartepe Mayor Attorney M.Mustafa Kocaman announced that Derbent Train Station would be opened in March after his meeting with Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who came to our city.

State Railways General Manager Metin Akbaş and the accompanying delegation made examinations at Derbent Train Station and reviewed the latest deficiencies in the station that will be reopened. General Manager Metin Akbaş said, “We stand by the promise of our Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu to our people. We will open on the promised date.” said.
Kartepe Mayor Attorney M. Mustafa Kocaman announced the opening date and said, “With the ceremony we will hold on Friday, March 11, our station will start operating again. Good luck to our Kartepe and all our fellow countrymen.”
