Jotun Protects 1915 Çanakkale Bridge

Jotun, which was preferred for the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge after the Osmangazi Gulf Crossing Bridge, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bosphorus Bridge and Eurasia Tunnel, continues to protect the important structures of Turkey.

1915 Çanakkale Bridge, one of Turkey's most important projects, the longest mid-span suspension bridge in the world, was painted with Jotun. Meeting all the paint needs of the building with strong industrial paints in its field, Jotun provides long-lasting protection with its highest quality products.

With a middle span of 2023 meters and a length of 4608 meters, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge has 318 steel towers, 2 meters high, its steel deck and all its auxiliary steel components are protected by Jotun.

600.000 lt paint was used

In the project, where the total amount of paint used was around 600.000 liters, Jotun's industrial grades, which provide high protection against corrosion and harsh conditions, were preferred. Jotun's high performance Jotachar series that provides fire resistance, which was also used in Osmangazi Bridge, was also used in some parts of the Çanakkale Bridge.

On the bridge, the colors of the Turkish flag

The Turkish Flag red color was preferred as the last layer on the towers of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, and the Turkish Flag white color was preferred on the last floor of the deck. The towers were painted in a red tone specially produced for the bridge, called 1915 Çanakkale Red.

Jotun, which carried the colors of the Turkish Flag to the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in line with the long-lasting work with the design team, thus became the choice of all bridges connecting the European Side to Asia.
