China plans to create a new global recording system for very sensitive meteorological data based on the evaluation of satellite signals. This is China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Ltd. The second institute announced to be established by (CASIC).
The system in question will measure the frequency, phase and oscillation width of the signals sent by the navigation satellites and graph how they change after they enter the ionosphere and atmosphere. Meteorologists will be able to calculate information such as temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure in the light of the data obtained. Technically, it will be possible to make numerical weather forecasts, predict disasters such as typhoons, make observations in the space surrounding the world, and give precise and long-term meteorological forecasts for flight, in the light of information about the entire environment of the world.
A test satellite from the search constellation was put into orbit last year, said Ma Jie of the CASIC Institute. Now it is stated that this satellite captures and produces a thousand data profiles per day. According to the announced data, China has presented the data it obtained through the "Fengyun" type satellite until 2021 for the benefit of 85 countries and regions, 121 of which are within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. These reconnaissance satellites, developed by China, were launched in 2021. The satellites named “Fengyun-3E” and “Fengyun-4B” have already accomplished missions with benefits around the world, according to the Chinese meteorological authorities.
Apart from that, China organized technical courses for the benefit of 92 experts from 1.400 countries and regions. Xian Di, a senior officer in the meteorology management, stated that data services and courses for technical personnel are free for all participants. Indeed, in accessing data, all beneficiaries globally are treated the same and equally as Chinese ones.
