IETT will hold a tender for the purchase of 100 electric buses this year. In this context, Karsan brand 100% electric domestically produced vehicle was tested at İkitelli Garage.
Karsan brand “e ATA” model 12-meter bus was tested at IETT İkitelli Garage. The test drive of the vehicle, which has a range of 449 kilometers with a 450 kW battery, was made by General Manager Alper Bilgili. Company officials, who gave information about the vehicle while driving, stated that the vehicle was exported to many countries in Europe.
There are many new technological equipment in the vehicle, which is driven with a load of 5 tons, which is placed for testing purposes. The engine power of the vehicle, which has equipment such as air suspension, camera mirrors, lane tracking system, pedestrian warning system, regenerative braking system, is 250 kW.
Along with General Manager Alper Bilgili, Head of Metrobus and Electric Bus Department Zeynep Pınar Mutlu, Head of IT Department Şeref Can Ayata, Technology Manager Burak Sevim and other IETT officials as well as company officials attended the test drive of the Karsan brand vehicle.
IETT will hold a tender this year for the purchase of 2022 electric vehicles in the 100 budget. After the tender, the first electric buses will start their journey on Istanbul roads.
