Fair İzmir will host the regional robot competition, which will be held for the first time in İzmir, with the strategic partnership of Fikret Yüksel Foundation, İZFAŞ and İZELMAN A.Ş., hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, between 4-6 March. Industrial robots designed by high school students will compete in the competition where 34 teams from Turkey and Poland will participate.

The races to be held at Fuar İzmir, hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and in the strategic partnership of the Fikret Yüksel Foundation (FYF), İZFAŞ and İZELMAN A.Ş, will be the first event of the year in the European region of the FRC. 8 teams from 32 cities from Turkey and 2 teams from Poland will compete with the industrial robots they designed.
Season Theme “Quick Response”
The theme of the FRC event for this season is “Rapid React”. FIRST Robotics Competition teams will build and program industrial-sized robots with limited time and resources, according to the rules set within the theme. Young scientist candidates will also present social responsibility projects to disseminate science and technology and develop their communities, as well as robotic studies.
What is FRC?
FRC, the international robot competition held every year for high school students, aims to educate young people as confident and creative leaders of the future in these fields, which include science, technology, mathematics and engineering. It hosts an average of over 33 students from 95 countries. Within the scope of the theme, the teams are trying to develop robots that are able to cope with the tasks set for them. Turkey is among the countries that produce the most amateur teams in the organization, which has a worldwide reputation.
