Only 17 percent of women have access to opportunities

Burak Kılıç, General Manager of UPS Turkey, said, “Only 17 percent of women in Turkey have access to a variety of opportunities for their emerging ventures. This rate is well below the average rates of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Studies show that when women entrepreneurs export, their businesses are more productive, employ more workers and sell more. Women entrepreneurs also develop their communities. Despite this, only 15 percent of business owner women export. Many women do not have the resources, knowledge and support needed to start business ventures. Women's initiatives are a huge potential that we have not been able to reveal sufficiently both globally and in our country. Only with the production and imagination of women can we reveal the true potential of our country. With the Women Exporter Program we have implemented, it is possible for more women entrepreneurs to do cross-border businesses, accelerate economic growth, create new jobs in the market, and much more.” said.
