Ersoy, on the occasion of this meeting, expressed that they aim to take TURKSOY to a higher level with the arrangements they will make on the legislation and the decisions they will take.

Minister Ersoy stated that TURKSOY's implementation of the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” made it possible for cities to gain a cultural brand value.

Expressing that they would be honored to realize the new Turkish peoples cultural festival, which was held in Eskişehir in 2013 and in Kastamonu in 2018, with the contributions of local governments in Bursa, Ersoy continued his words as follows:

“In 2022, one of the precious cities of our beautiful country, Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, will carry the 'Cultural Capital of the Turkish World' banner in the best way possible. Bursa, as you can see, is one of the cities that will deserve the title of "Cultural Capital of the Turkish World" with all its geographical, human and natural beauties, historical and cultural values. I would like to state that we will use all the means of our Ministry in order for this year to be completed successfully as in previous years. In this direction, in 2019, Turkey's tourism capacity and tourism investments will increase in the country's economy by making our country a center of attraction, discovering, developing and promoting tangible and intangible natural, cultural, biological and man-made heritages, and short, medium and long-term communication and marketing efforts. We have commissioned our Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, which we established in order to increase the share and service quality of Bursa, to evaluate the potential of Bursa, to ensure the visibility of the events to be held throughout the year, and to carry the promotion to the international dimension.”

Emphasizing that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will continue to cooperate with its stakeholders on the detection and protection of cultural elements in Turkey and its sister geographies, Ersoy said that this year, cultural interaction and experience sharing will be provided between artists, academics and intellectuals from all over the world in Bursa. In the declaration, it was stated that the proposed amendments to the TURKSOY legislation were left to the next meetings to be evaluated after the work to be carried out during the period of the newly elected secretary general, and with the recommendation of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and the approval of the Permanent Council members, the city of Shusha in Azerbaijan, known for its historical and cultural riches, was declared the 2023 Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. .

The declaration also announced that Sultanbai Raev was unanimously elected as the Secretary General of TURKSOY for the 2022-2025 period upon the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policies of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his speech at the closing session, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy thanked those who contributed to the organization of the event. Stating that they are pleased to host the guests in Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, Ersoy said, “We held the opening ceremonies of Bursa's Cultural Capital of the Turkish World and the Nevruz simultaneously with great enthusiasm last night. I sincerely believe that the events that will cover the whole year will be at least as successful as these celebrations. At the same time, I think 2022 will be an extremely important year for us.” said.
