İzmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT General Directorate filed a criminal complaint to the İzmir Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident that occurred on February 24, in which seven ESHOT drivers and a police officer were injured with a knife. It was demanded that the two suspects, against whom an investigation file was opened, should be tried and punished.
In the incident that took place on Thursday, February 24, at around 05.00:XNUMX in İzmir, two suspects, who wanted to get on the ESHOT personnel shuttle bus on Yeşilyurt Polat Street, attacked the ESHOT drivers who warned them with a knife. Seven ESHOT drivers and a police officer who wanted to intervene in the incident were injured with a knife. While five of the injured were discharged after their treatment; The police officer and two ESHOT drivers, who were in serious condition, received treatment for a long time. The arrested suspects Mertcan A. and Selami Gökhan K. said in their statements that they did not remember the incident and that they were under the "drug influence".
ESHOT General Directorate filed a criminal complaint to the Izmir Public Prosecutor's Office for the two suspects, about whom an investigation file was opened. In the complaint petition prepared by ESHOT Legal Counsel, the suspects; It has been demanded that he be tried and punished for the crimes of attempting to kill deliberately, intentionally injuring, deprivation of liberty, hindering the right to benefit from public services, detention of the means of transportation and resisting to fulfill his duty.

With the instruction of our President Tunç Soyer, we are involved in the litigation process. These types of crimes must be punished in the most severe way so that no one can attempt the same again. The incident had serious consequences for our administration as well as the sad aspect of humanity. Our injured drivers returning from the dead had to receive reports ranging from 7 to 35 days. Both they and our institution suffered serious job losses. The problem was overcome by making sufficient number of personnel work overtime. A serious unforeseen cost has arisen and this cost has been covered from public resources. Public funds are public money. As ESHOT General Directorate, we will take all legal initiatives to ensure that the suspects are sentenced to the maximum limit.”
