Ordu Metropolitan Municipality paved the way for the city to become a leading city in water sports with the Durgun Water Sports Center and Camping Area, which is the only one in Turkey with its equipment.
Metropolitan Mayor Dr. The idea of integrating the city with the sea, expressed by Mehmet Hilmi Güler at every opportunity, also popularized stagnant water sports in Ordu. President Güler first introduced sailing and kona sports to the city, and then, with the courses opened, many young people became interested in these sports. In order to make these sports more professional, a Stagnant Water Sports Center and Camping Area were added to Ordu.

The first opening of the Durgun Water Sports Center, which was built next to the Ordu-Giresun Airport in the Gülyalı district and whose every detail was considered one by one, was held with a giant organization. The organization, which was held with the participation of 13 athletes from 187 provinces, attracted great attention. With the effect of this organization, it has been proven that the center can host not only national but also international events.

Not only athletes were considered in this field. A caravan and a motor park area have been created for citizens who want to camp with their caravans and stay with their motorbikes. Besides sportsmen, caravan and motorbike enthusiasts started to use this facility with great admiration.
