Born in Izmir in 1988, Fatma Uruk graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Economics in 2013.

Working at QNB Finansbank since 2013, national freediver Fatma Uruk voluntarily takes part in youth projects in non-governmental organizations.

Uruk became interested in this sport after watching the documentary of world record holder freediving Yasemin Dalkılıç at an early age.

He participated in the Turkish Championship in 2008 and was selected for the national team as the 3rd. In 2009, Uruk became the second in Turkey in the Dynamic Apnea Turkey Championship, and became the 2th in the European Championship organized in Antalya Kemer the same year, and received the title of "national athlete".

In 2015, he had a serious accident while doing jogging training and got vertigo as a result of this accident. Despite the warnings of the doctors, he did not give up diving and in 2015 he became the 2nd in Turkey.

Fatma Uruk became the 2015th in the world by traveling 96.98 meters in one breath in the competitions held in Cube Apnea discipline in 4.

Participating in the World Championship in 2018 with Şahika Ercümen, Rüstem Derin, Mahmut Fatih Sevük, Derya Can and Yaren Türk, Uruk placed 1.31rd in Turkey with a time of 3 minutes.

He placed second with 2019 meters in the Free Diving Crawler Fixed Weight and Cube Apnea Turkey Championship held in Antalya Kaş in 40.

Successful diver Fatma Uruk, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, achieved a great success by breaking the world record 2020 times in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico in 3.

In September 2020, while training for the freediving world record in Mexico, he set a new national record with 60 m (200 ft) at the Constant Weight (CWT) Fins event. The old record was 50 m (160 ft).

In November of the same year, he set three world records in three days in Mexico. He set a world record for finless variable weight apnea (VNF) at sea at 72 m (236 ft). The old record was held by Derya Can at 70 m (230 ft). The next day she broke the world record in the Constant Weight (CWT) Fins event with 65 m (213 ft) at 67 m (220 ft), owned by Olga Chernyavskaya of Russia. Finally, he raised his own record 72' in the VNF race to 77 m (253 ft).
