President Erdoğan made phone calls with Zelenski on February 26 and March 4 and stated that they are making efforts to declare a ceasefire.

Emphasizing that an urgent general ceasefire would not only alleviate humanitarian concerns in the region, but also provide an opportunity to seek a political solution, President Erdoğan said: "Let's pave the way for peace together." he called.

President Erdogan, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also held phone conversations with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Face-to-face meeting with 11 leaders at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Turkey brought together the foreign ministers of both sides of the war as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on March 10, and achieved an important diplomatic success. At the meeting attended by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba, steps that can be taken to end the war were discussed.

President Erdoğan met with 11 leaders, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, as part of the Forum.

Thanks to the "diplomatic effort" from the UN Secretary General

President Erdoğan discussed regional and international developments, particularly the Ukraine-Russia war, with United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres, with whom he had a phone call on March 13.

President Erdoğan stated that they are making great efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Ukraine-Russia war and to re-establish peace, and that they are also working hard on humanitarian aid and evacuations.

UN Secretary General Guterres thanked President Erdogan for his attempts to mediate between Ukraine and Russia, his efforts to contribute to peace and his diplomatic efforts.

Duda, the fifth leader who came to Turkey in the last 8 days

Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar is attending an extraordinary meeting of defense ministers of NATO countries, which will be held today in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, to evaluate the developments due to Russia's attack on Ukraine. Akar will also hold bilateral meetings with some of his colleagues within the scope of the meeting.

NATO Leaders Summit convenes

Leaders of NATO countries will meet at an extraordinary summit in Brussels next week to evaluate the developments after Russia's attack on Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that an extraordinary NATO Leaders' Summit will be held on March 24 at NATO headquarters in Brussels. President Erdoğan is also expected to attend the summit.
