The official opening ceremony of the events in Bursa, which was selected as the 38 Turkic World Capital of Culture at the 2022th Term Meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), was held at the Tofaş Sports Hall. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, the President of the Aksakallılar Council of the Turkish States Organization Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Secretary General of the Turkish States Organization Bagdat Amreyev, the Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat, the Turksoy Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality. Alinur Aktaş, ministers and ambassadors from Turkish States and citizens attended. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who made the opening speech of the ceremony where a visual feast was experienced with stage decorations and light plays, said that Bursa, the meeting point of different civilizations, the Turkish city, the Ottoman capital, and the fourth largest city of the Republic of Turkey, is justified to be the 2022 Turkish World Capital of Culture. Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Aksakallılar Council of the Organization of Turkish States, said that the Turkic World continues to grow with Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Saying, “We will be one in this geography, we will be big, we will be alive, we will be strong, together we will be the Turkish world”, Binali Yıldırım pointed out that there have been distressing events and great suffering in the region recently. Explaining that this shows that the Turkish states should be stronger, Yıldırım said, “We will get together with each other. We will protect our brotherhood like the inside of our eyes.
