The “Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations Between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan”, signed between Turkey and Azerbaijan on June 15, 2021, was published in today's issue of the Official Gazette after the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In the declaration, in which the parties expressed their satisfaction with the developing relations between the two countries at the strategic level, he noted the importance of maintaining political dialogue at all levels and high-level mutual visits.

In the declaration, when a third state or states threaten or attack, in the opinion of any of the parties, its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability or security of its internationally recognized borders, the parties will hold joint consultations and the United Nations (UN) Charter aims to prevent this threat or attack. It was emphasized that the company will take initiatives in accordance with its aims and principles.

In the declaration, it was stated that the parties will determine the scope and form of assistance through urgent negotiations and decide to meet the defense needs in order to take joint measures, and it was noted that the coordinated activity of the force and management units of the armed forces will be ensured.

In the declaration, it was stated that the Security Councils of the parties will hold regular joint meetings on national security issues, in these meetings, the national interests, regional and international security issues that affect the interests of the parties will be negotiated, and the two brotherly countries will continue to make joint efforts for the restructuring and modernization of the armed forces in accordance with the requirements of the era. .
