Izmir Metropolitan Municipality launched a donation campaign for the memorial house that it will set up as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Izmir. It was stated that those who want to donate to the memorial house, where all kinds of goods reflecting the spirit of the period from 1914-1930, will be exhibited, can contact the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Piriştina City Archive and Museum.

Within the scope of the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, a “100. Year Memorial House” is established. In accordance with the protocol signed between İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and Konak Municipality, the historical Alanyalı Mansion will be transformed into a Memorial House.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which wants to establish the memorial house with the support of the citizens, started a donation campaign for this purpose. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who stated that the memorial house, whose works continue at full speed, will also symbolize the liberation of Turkey. Tunç Soyer“100, which we accept as İzmir's 2022th anniversary, will be a year in which we take important steps in terms of the legacy we will leave to the future, beyond its symbolic meaning. The 100th Anniversary Memorial House, which will carry the traces of the National Struggle and liberation, is one of them. Let us immortalize the historical objects and documents in your homes by carrying them to the next generations.”

It will be established in the historical Alanyalı Mansion

Alanyalı Mansion, one of the structures witnessing history in Konak, is located in the district known as Kestelli. The historical mansion is also known as Yemişçizade Mansion. The mansion, which was built in the 19th century and has survived from the Yemişçizade family, draws attention with its ceiling decorations. The mansion, which was used as the land registry cadastre directorate and military service in the first years of the Republic, also operated as Kestelli Girls' School between 1950-1969. It was expropriated by Konak Municipality in 2013.

Donation criteria

In order for the campaign to progress smoothly, a number of criteria were determined. The period covering the donation campaign was determined as between 1914 and 1930. Materials to be accepted as donations within the scope of the campaign; It should be related to World War I, the occupation of İzmir, the National Struggle Period, the Liberation of İzmir, Lausanne, İzmir Economy Congress, the proclamation of the Republic, Atatürk's Revolutions, Efeler and similar subjects.

Will be able to generate data representing this period; Documents, documents, notebooks, articles, photographs, engravings, posters, postage stamps, uniforms, letters, postcards, maps, medals and the like will be accepted as donations.

Objects, visual materials, military cultural assets brought by the donors will be examined and reported by experts to be requested from the military museums affiliated to the Ministry of National Defense or the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. After this process, it will be determined whether the donation will be accepted or not. The names of the donors whose donations were accepted will be kept alive in the Memorial House for the 100th year.
