Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, stated that in 2030, approximately 1 million electric or hybrid cars will be on the roads in Turkey and for this, the infrastructure should be strengthened.
Minister Dönmez addressed the youth at the 2nd University MMG Workshop organized by the University Architects and Engineers Group (MMG).
Stating that Turkey is foreign-dependent in energy, Dönmez said, “Especially in recent years, we have had new targets with the National Energy and Mining Policy. One of them is security of supply. We have to provide our energy uninterruptedly and with high quality. Another issue is localization. We are working to make the most of domestic resources.” used the expressions.
Dönmez emphasized that climate change is at the top of the agenda all over the world, and that rapid steps have been taken in this context in Turkey as well.
Noting that the number of electric vehicles is increasing gradually, Dönmez said:
“Studies show that in 2030, we will see approximately 1 million electric or hybrid cars on our roads in Turkey. For this, we need to strengthen our infrastructure. Here is where the story of our domestic car TOGG begins. Now we design the vehicle, which uses electricity, which is a cleaner fuel, with our engineers.”
