Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci stated that the owners of fishing vessels smaller than 12 meters (excluding 12 meters) damaged in the floods in Bartın, Kastamonu and Sinop will be paid between 2 thousand and 2 thousand 900 TL per fisherman, with additional increases depending on the size of the boat.
In his written statement, Kirişci stated that in the flood disaster that occurred on August 11, 2021, some of the losses incurred by the owners of small-scale fishing boats under 12 meters, engaged in traditional coastal fishing in Bartın, Kastamonu and Sinop, will be compensated.
Stressing that they are aware of the troubles of the fishermen and that all support will be given, Kirişci stated that he believes they will produce solutions together.

Pointing out that the fishing gear was damaged as the materials drifted to the seabed after the flood disrupted the fishing grounds, and thus the amount of catches decreased, Kirişci said: which we will pay additional support to the fishermen.
In this context, the amount of 'Traditional Coastal Fishing' support to be given to the owners of fishing vessels smaller than 12 meters (excluding 12 meters) in 2022 varies between 1000 TL and 1450 TL per fisherman, depending on the size of the boat, and a total of 2 thousand with additional supports within the framework of the decree published today. It was increased between TL 2 and TL 900," he said.
