Speaking at the meeting held at the MEB Tevfik Advanced Meeting Hall, Deputy Minister of National Education Peter Aşkar said, "Equal Opportunity in Basic Education", "Improvement of Vocational Education" and "Professional Development of Teachers" at the 7th National Education Council held in December after 20 years. Stating that they have set three main goals, he stated that they see education as a future issue. Pointing out that the only factor that will build this future is teachers, Aşkar said, “We have to increase the quality of education in order to increase our country's competitiveness and social and individual welfare. Therefore, one of our priorities is to increase the qualifications of our teachers.” he said.

Stating that they organize many trainings to contribute to the personal and professional development of teachers and administrators, and that they try to improve their knowledge and skills, Aşkar stated that they aim to build the future on a solid ground by increasing the quality and quantity of these trainings every year. In this context, Deputy Minister Aşkar stated that they have made various regulations both in terms of legislation and financial aspects, and that they have implemented new approaches in teacher education by publishing the new In-Service Training Regulation this month.

In this context, Aşkar stated that they will start the Teacher-Manager Mobility Program, School-Based Professional Development and Professional Development Communities, and continued his words as follows: “With these programs, our teachers and administrators will be able to see good examples on-site with school visits and transfer them to their own schools quickly, and our schools now carry out professional development activities in line with the demands of teachers. will be able to organize and improve their practical skills by meeting with colleagues and education staff. Of course, these trainings have a financial dimension, a budget. As the Ministry, we increase the budget we allocate for the training of our teachers and administrators every year. In 2022, we increased the budget of 9 million 958 thousand liras, which we allocated from the central budget for professional development, to 28 million liras by increasing it 282 times.”

Aşkar underlined that the common denominator of education is the most important factor that determines the future, and emphasized that while doing all these studies, they signed cooperation protocols with specialized institutions and organizations such as TÜBİTAK, EFDEK, TÜBA, Turkish Language Institution, Turkish History Institution. Stating that they received support for the preparation of in-service training programs, the production of visual, printed and digital educational content, the supply of experts, books and periodicals, projects, competitions, training organizations, and the development of Turkish language and Turkish history awareness within the scope of these protocols, Aşkar said: : “These supports from experts in the field are very important to us. The quality of the teacher determines the quality of education and our future human resources. These supports we receive from competent institutions and organizations are our biggest support in increasing the quality of our teachers.

There is a proverb that says 'one hand washes one hand, two hands wash one face'. With these collaborations, we make up for our shortcomings and move forward in teacher training. I would like to thank and extend my respects to everyone who has been with us on this path, who has taken responsibility, contributed to the personal and professional development of our teachers, and supported the realization of the trainings.” The heads of the institutions and organizations included in the cooperation protocol made evaluations and wished the protocol to be beneficial.

Within the scope of the protocol; Studies will be carried out with the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) in the preparation of the in-service training program, in the determination of the trainers who will prepare the training contents, in the preparation of the visual and printed materials and documents to be used in the trainings, in the provision of face-to-face or distance education - digital education - content, documents / training materials to be used in education. .

Providing academic support in congresses and symposiums with TÜBİTAK, providing teacher training in cooperation with environmental awareness, zero waste, climate change and mathematics teaching themes, organizing projects, competitions and trainings for students, professional development societies and school-based professional development activities. support programs will be established for the provision of expert support and the design of the activities of professional development societies.

It will be supported to organize workshops, congresses and information feasts with the Turkish Language Association, to provide books and periodicals, and to support studies on the use of Turkish and grammar.

It will be ensured that the Turkish Historical Society and administrators and teachers will contribute to the work of history teaching and historical awareness, workshops, congresses and information feasts, culture and art conversations and travel organizations to historical places will be organized.

With the Education Faculty Deans Council, studies will be carried out to provide academic support to teacher and administrator training to be organized centrally and locally, and to provide academic support to "School-Based Professional Development" activities organized locally.
