A cooperation protocol was signed between Bahçeşehir University (BAU) and Huawei Turkey. Within the scope of the protocol, a common academic platform will be created under the 'Huawei & BAU Learning Platform'.

While the concept of 'digitalization in education', which emerged with the pandemic, increases its importance day by day, a cooperation protocol was signed between Bahçeşehir University and Huawei Turkey, which came together in this context. To the summit in Giresun's Kulakkaya Plateau at an altitude of 1.700; Huawei Turkey General Manager Jing Li, BAU Global President Enver Yücel, Huawei Turkey R&D Center Director Hussein Hai, Huawei Turkey Research and Innovation Manager Dr. Sanem Tanberk, Director of BAU Hybrid Training Center, Dr. Ergün Akgün, Huawei Turkey Corporate Business Group Technology Manager Burak Bıçakhan and METU Computer and Instructional Technology Education (CEIT) Department Lecturer. 'WE WILL CONDUCT OUR WORK WITH HUAWEI IN EVERY AREA'

BAU Global President Enver Yücel, in his speech at the technology summit; He said that they will work together with Huawei in areas such as health, education and agriculture. Stating that they have a very rich content due to being a 55-year-old educational institution, Yücel said, “We decided to work with Huawei in technology activities specific to the education, technology and health sectors. We will make a goodwill agreement here today and we will carry out our work in the field of technology together with Huawei. As a whole education group, we are a 55-year-old institution. We have a very rich content. When we integrate this with technology; We will have done very good works on behalf of humanity and our institutions," he said.

'NOW WE NEED TO GO OUT OF CLASSES AND CAMPUSES'

In the continuation of his speech, Yücel pointed out that places no longer matter in education and said, “Places do not matter anymore. Enough to learn all the places in the world. Look, Kulakkaya Plateau is a campus. We can equip this place with such technologies that we can do most of our training here. Now we need to get out of the classrooms and campuses. Is this possible, possible. Here, the board can bring us together with all parts of the world. The teacher can sit in front of him and write. At that time, the borders of the campuses were removed. As long as we fill it and develop its technology," he said.

BAU Rector Prof. Dr. Noting that a global company in the field of technology and a global institution in the field of education have joined forces, Şirin Karadeniz said, “Our cooperation includes new technologies in the field of education; It focuses on developing educational integrations and innovative solutions, especially in areas such as 5G, big data, and the Internet of Things.

We will carry out R&D studies together in this field, we will develop good examples in areas where these new technologies will create added value in education, and we will help our engineering faculty students to understand and design new technologies faster by positioning these innovative technologies in our courses. Here, a global company in the field of technology and a global organization in the field of education come together and join forces.”

Huawei Turkey General Manager Jing Li gave the following statements in his speech; “As a corporate citizen of this country, we continue to do our best to contribute to Turkey. With our Coding Marathon project, we direct young people to the software field and encourage them with scholarships and awards. With the ICT Academy Program, of which Bahçeşehir University is a member, we offer online and face-to-face courses to young people studying STEM fields in more than 20 universities. We provide software training to young people by supporting the Software Movement Program led by BTK and Eastern Anatolia Development Agency (DAKA). As Huawei, in our 20-year establishment and development process in Turkey; We witnessed every moment of the digitalization journey in Turkey. I believe that we will do much better things in the future with our sustainable efforts in developing information skills, localization and innovation. A LEARNING PLATFORM WILL BE ESTABLISHED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE PROTOCOL

After the speeches, BAU Rector Prof. Dr. A protocol was signed between Şirin Karadeniz and Huawei Turkey General Manager Jing Li. Within the scope of the protocol, a common academic platform will be created under the name of 'Huawei & BAU Learning Platform' and BAU's participation in the Huawei OpenLab ecosystem will be ensured. In addition, faculty members and researchers; access to educational technologies, joint training programs and research activities.

In addition, joint projects will be developed on the use of artificial intelligence applications in digital Campus, 5G, educational technologies, medical practice and innovation management. Bahçeşehir University, Uğur Schools, Bahçeşehir College and Bahçeşehir College Science and Technology High School students and teachers will be given the opportunity to participate in Huawei certificate programs. Within the scope of cooperation; Through Huawei's Digital Board IdeaHub platform, digitalization of classrooms with different teaching scenarios will also be possible.
