Uber Announces Black Taxi Service for Istanbul

UBER announced that 8-person vehicles, which they call 'black taxi', have been put into service and will be on the streets of Istanbul.

Uber is a transportation network company that offers journey planning via its mobile application as an alternative to yellow taxis and does not cause price surprises. Uber, which was banned in Turkey in the past years, started to serve as a yellow taxi after the lawsuit filed in favor of it. However, the service they called XL was not in use.

UBER has announced that the service, which was known as UBER XL in the past, will be re-launched with Uber Black Taxi and “Luxury taxi” tapes on it.

“BLACK TAXI IN ISTANBUL”

UBER used the following statement in a statement on the subject on Twitter; “Uber Black Taxi is in Istanbul! Black Taxi is now at your service with the privilege of Uber, with vehicles with a capacity of 8 passengers and a larger seating area for families and groups of friends. Call now and enjoy a more luxurious and comfortable journey!”
