The Global Eco Label Network, in which 60 countries are represented, will contribute to the global recognition of the Turkish Environmental Label System carried out by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. determined the criteria in ceramic, textile, cleaning paper, hand washing dish soap, cosmetics, glass and touristic accommodation service groups. Required criteria for obtaining an environmental label

This label will be given to companies that meet these basic criteria. Noting that the criteria are gathered under 5 main headings, Sevencan said, “The product does not create toxic waste. It maintains biodiversity, that is, the materials of products such as rattan or bamboo in furniture come from sustainable forests.

Emphasizing that this is a very important step for a sustainable future, Ayşe Sevencan stated that it will also increase its competitiveness in terms of economy. Sevencan said, “Now we are moving from import to export. With this new economy model, it is an item that will increase competition in exports. We know China's strength in competition, but China is not an economy capable of producing a lot of green products. There is such a large market in Europe, and with the Paris Climate Agreement, countries are already considering limiting the import of non-green products. This adds a great competitive edge. Therefore, it is very important for our companies to be green-labeled. It increases our competitive power in both domestic and foreign markets," he said.

We are moving to a circular economy

Emphasizing the contribution it will make to the industrial sector, Dr. Instructor Member Ayşe Sevencan said, “The Ministry of Industry has studies in the field of efficiency. We are moving from the linear to the circular economy. What does this mean? We are returning to a system where waste is not waste. This type of production will add efficiency, reduce costs and create a great opportunity.” Sevencan, its contribution to the economy; In the pandemic period when the demand was low, he explained with the example that the market market for green products was only 4.2 trillion Euros in the European market.
