Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer hosted the ambassadors who came to İzmir on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of the Buca Metro, the biggest investment of the city. Argentine Ambassador Patricia Salas and Mexican Ambassador Jose Luis Martinez Hernandez stated that bringing a historical investment such as the Buca Metro into the city is an important step and said, "It was a very crowded and glorious day."

Argentine Ambassador Salas discussed issues related to the development of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation between Izmir and Argentina. With the Mexican Ambassador Hernandez, the works to be done to promote the Mexican culture in İzmir were determined.
“Congratulations for Buca Metro”
Ambassador Salas, who started his speech by congratulating Izmir and President Soyer for the investment in Buca Metro, said, “It was a very crowded and very successful day. They said that the new metro line will be completed in 4 years. This is a very short time. I congratulate you,” he said. Saying that the relations between Argentina and Turkey are at a very good level, Salas said, “We would also like to establish a sister city relationship. I will do a study on this issue," he said.
“Cities should learn from each other”
Stating that the bond established between Izmir and Argentina should be strengthened, Soyer said: “We are trying to use and revive these fraternal relations efficiently. Cities should share with each other. They should learn from each other. Cooperation can be made on issues such as combating the climate crisis and smart cities. We can interact with common cultures. We can host our groups from Argentina in İzmir and have performances here.”
Mexican days will be held
