Represented by Doğan Trend Otomotiv, a subsidiary of Doğan Holding, MG entered our country last year with the promise of being the most accessible electric vehicle. Introducing the 100% electric ZS model in May, the brand introduced the 'plug-in hybrid' EHS, which uses both electric and gasoline engines, this time in the last quarter of the year. Kağan Dağtekin, CEO of Doğan Trend Automotive Group, emphasized that the British-origin MG automobile brand, which successfully completed its first year in our country, has an important role in their portfolio; “MG's claim in the electric car fits perfectly with our vision for sustainable mobility. Being the first automotive company to bring together a wide range of electric products from 100% electric cars to e-motorcycles, from e-bikes to e-scooters at the same sales points under one roof, our new cars that we introduced to the market under the MG Electric brand won the appreciation of Turkish consumers. With the assurance of the Doğan Group behind us, we managed to become one of the best debuting countries in Europe in a short time. We are delighted that Turkey is the country with the highest share of MG's electric vehicles, sold at 15 points in 400 countries in Europe, and we were proud when the results were announced. Although our ZS EV model hit the roads in the second half of the year, it managed to enter the top 5 among electric models, and when we look at the last 6 months it has been on sale, it has managed to be among the top 3 most preferred electric models. We took the first step to our country with our electric models. Our goal for the new year is to be the leader of the British origin automobile brands in Turkey”.

Established in England in 1924, the well-established British automobile brand MG (Morris Garages) made an assertive return to Europe with the MG Electric brand as of 2019. Despite the difficult effects of Covid19, the brand managed to meet with customers in 15 countries with 400 MG experience points in a short time. At the beginning of 2021, Doğan Trend Automotive became the Turkey distributor and launched the country with the 100% electric ZS EV model. After the success of the ZS EV among electric cars, it launched the plug-in hybrid model EHS as the second model. The EHS model, which has two electric and gasoline engines, was sold in November before it reached the country, and was publicly known as the "model sold on board".

2021 Tons of Carbon Emissions Prevented in 320

MG ZS EVs, which hit the roads as of June, have done approximately 2 million km in our country so far. Doğan Trend Automotive CEO Kağan Dağtekin said, “While our cars offer a striking economic drive to their users, they have made a very important contribution to sustainability. We calculate that the vehicles sold in just 6 months prevented 320 tons of carbon emissions. Moreover, these vehicles will remain in traffic for decades and will continue to produce this benefit! We are very happy when we see the concrete contribution we have made to our country and the world. We know that a petrol car like our electric ZS model emits an average of 150 grams of carbon per kilometer. This figure reaches 100 kilograms per 15 km, and 20 tons per year with an average of 3 thousand km of use! It's hard to believe, but it really is that simple. Each electric SUV owner saves 3 tons of carbon per year. This is the reason behind the world's rapid turn to electric vehicles," he said.

MG Value Guard Buyback Guarantee Has Been Very Effective

Evaluating the reason why MG, which has completed its investments in representation points in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Hatay and Bodrum, has achieved a better market share compared to European countries, Dağtekin said, “If we consider that a new brand entered the country with an electric model. - We knew that technical features and brand value would not be enough to win customers' favor. In the market research we conducted before the launch, we saw that we needed to focus on this issue. MG Value Guard was born out of this need and has been one of the keys to our success.”

Like a Stone! The First Euro-NCAP 5-Star Electric SUV in Its Segment: MG ZS EV

One of the most important factors in the preferences of MG customers is the robustness and reliability it offers. Regarding this issue, Sinan Erbil, MG Brand Manager, said, “Although it is very difficult to get 5 stars from the current NCAP tests, it is not only enough to get a good grade from collisions, but also the vehicle must have the most advanced electronic driving assistance systems that prevent collisions. MG, on the other hand, became the first vehicle to receive a full score of 100 stars from NCAP in the 5% electric B-SUV segment with its vehicles with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and became the subject of news all over the world. Our HS model, the gasoline version of the EHS model, which we started to sell recently, has also proven its success in NCAP with 5 stars.”
