İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, who spoke at the ceremony, reminded that the Terra Madre Gastronomy Fair will be held in İzmir for the first time outside of Italy in 2022 and said, “We will bring new markets to the cuisine of the fertile lands and unique geography, and bring our values to the reputation they deserve. We are very proud to bring İzmir together with the world as a pride of our country by growing the economy and exports of the city.”

HORECA Fair- 16rd International Hotel Equipment, Hospitality Accommodation Technologies and Out-of-Home Consumption Fair organized by GL Platform Fuarcılık at Fuar İzmir between 19-3 February, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, was opened with a ceremony. İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, İzmir Village-Koop Union President Neptün Soyer, Turkish Travel Agencies Association (TÜRSAB) Chairman Firuz Bağlıkaya, İzmir Chamber of Commerce Chairman Mahmut Özgener, GL Platform Fuarcılık General Director Gül Ceylan, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Buyer, İzmir Cooks Association President Turgay Bucak, chefs, heads and representatives of non-governmental organizations, producers and citizens attended.
Özuslu: “We will bring our values to the reputation they deserve”
Mustafa Özuslu said, “We sincerely believe that HORECA will make great contributions to Izmir and the region's tourism as in previous years. In 2020, a transaction volume of 2,5 million dollars was realized in just four days at the HORECA Fair. I hope that we will go beyond these figures this year at HORECA, which makes such a valuable contribution to the economy of our country, region and İzmir.” in 2022; Reminding that Terra Madre, which has been held only in Italy until today, simultaneously with the 91st İzmir International Fair, will be held in İzmir as Terra Madre Anadolu İzmir 2022 for the first time, Özuslu said, “We see the HORECA fair as a part of the Terra Madre chain besides all its contributions. Köşger: “İzmir is equal to the city of fairs”
İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger stated that İzmir is identified with fairs and said, “I say it is unique to İzmir because İzmir equals fairs. Izmir is a city that has a claim in every field. It is a city with a claim in commerce, industry, agriculture and tourism. One of the most important elements is the fair. Gastronomy tourism is also very important for the development of tourism. Turkey is a very rich geography, a geography where many cultures come together. One of the most important features of this geography is the Aegean cuisine. A kitchen whose main element is olive oil. In order for us to present this kitchen, its equipment must be presented in the best possible way. This shows the importance of the HORECA fair”.
