İBB has completed the construction of 35 new school gymnasiums that will be at the service of students and Istanbulites of all ages. He delivered the ready-to-use ones to schools. The halls, which offer students the opportunity to do physical education lessons in closed, clean and comfortable environments, will host free sports schools, athlete training projects and sports events outside of class hours.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) adds new facilities to the facilities it has built for the development of sports culture and the spread of the spirit of olympism. It builds gymnasiums in school yards so that students can do their physical education classes in closed and comfortable areas throughout the year. IMM, which offers students the opportunity to teach in 185 modern halls, has completed the construction of 35 more. The number of school gymnasiums that will be served together with the ones that have been made ready for use will increase to 220.
24 HALLS BUILT IN 35 DISTRICTS
24 of the halls, whose manufacturing and all related processes have been completed, were made ready for the opening and delivered to the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. 11 halls will be available after the energy subscription process is completed. The halls will host free sports schools, athlete training projects and various sports events for Istanbul residents outside of class hours.
Within the scope of the works carried out by the IMM Directorate of Construction Affairs, a gymnasium was added to the gardens of 24 schools in 14 districts, 21 on the Anatolian Side and 35 on the European Side. Heating and ventilation systems and security cameras that will be active 7/24 were also integrated in the halls, which were taken over by the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate and put into the service of schools.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS TAKING COURSES WILL RISE TO 222 THOUSAND
With the start of use of the newly built halls, the number of halls served by the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate will increase to 220. 31 thousand 533 students will be able to do physical education classes in these closed areas all year long. The number of students taking lessons in the halls built by IMM will reach 222 thousand 330 in all halls.
MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND MATERIAL SUPPORT FROM IMM
Within the framework of the protocol signed with the Directorate of National Education, IMM affiliate SPOR ISTANBUL Sports Schools will organize trainings in the halls that can also be used outside of class hours. All sports equipment used by students and citizens in the halls, where the maintenance, repair and cleaning of the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate is carried out, will also be covered by IMM.
