Home Education Kit and Story Set for Special Children from MEB

The Ministry of National Education has implemented two new projects in order to support individuals with special educational needs in educational environments suitable for their needs, by using appropriate methods and equipment.

The first of the projects prepared by the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services is the Home Education Kit (EV-KİT), which will reach children with special needs as early as possible so that they can use their existing capacities at the highest level.

EV-KİT has been created with materials and educational tools that can be easily used with the participation of their families in the home environment, especially in order to reinforce the cognitive and social gains acquired by the students who are educated at home.

This set; It was prepared in 4 different contents for students with mild intellectual disability and autism, moderate-severe intellectual disability and autism, visual and hearing impairment. EV-KİT; It includes ergonomic and portable printed, mechanical and digital materials and educational tools specific to individual differences.

The second work prepared for special children is the "Children of Private Street" set, which creates a whole with differences and presents the best examples of living together.

Children of Private Street; invites all children to embark on fun adventures, to respect differences, and to look at life from the window of special children.

The enriched story set called "Children of Private Street", in which friendship, cooperation, solidarity, tolerance, love and respect are handled; consists of five books, 5 animations and 5 songs.

Children of Private Street was prepared for children with visual and hearing impairments with the support of Turkish sign language and audio description.

“Little Hero” sharing the excitement of starting school; “The Nut Mouse; The story of Arda, who could not find the Braille edition of the book he wanted to read, “The Bookworm; “Holiday Candy” pointing out the importance of saving, and “Mysterious Neighbors” sharing the experiences of Ferhad and Şamila who had to leave their homeland, are ready to meet with children.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that EV-KİT and "Children of Private Streets" set were prepared by expert teams in a way to contain entertaining and instructive content that may attract children's attention.

“Working for our special children is one of the issues that we attach great importance to. For this reason, we are constantly launching new applications to support our children and their families with different content.

1000 sets of EV-KİT, home education decision by the Special Education Services Boards in 81 provinces; It will be delivered to all our children with mild intellectual disability and autism, moderate and severe intellectual disability and autism, visual impairment and hearing impairment.
