Kadıköy Municipality conducted a free hearing test screening on February 65-9 for the early diagnosis of hearing problems, one of the biggest complaints of citizens over the age of 10.
Kadıköy Municipality has been continuing its hearing test screenings since 2019. Kadıköy Municipality took action for the early diagnosis of hearing problems of citizens over the age of 19, who were afraid to go to the hospital environment during the Covid-65 pandemic process. The screening tests conducted at the May 9 Social Life House on February 10-19 were organized in accordance with the pandemic conditions.
ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS OF CITIZENS OVER 65
Bülent Eroğlu, who started his speech by emphasizing the importance of the hearing test, said:Kadıköy In line with our work with the municipality and its polyclinics, we conduct various health screenings for our citizens from time to time. Now we are having a hearing test. This is a completely free place for citizens over the age of 65. One of the main problems of our citizens over the age of 65 is hearing problems. Hearing tests are considered as a pre-stimulus. If there is any problem with hearing, this is determined.”
Underlining that the tests were carried out in accordance with the pandemic rules, Eroğlu said, “We have provided this service for our citizens who have to stay at home for a long time due to the pandemic and are afraid to go to the doctor. The hearing test done today is completely in line with the rules of the pandemic. They also trust us because they see that we follow these rules. We have been providing hearing test services since 2019.”
“I CAN'T GO TO THE DOCTOR DUE TO THE PANDEMIC”
Hearing test participant Kadıköy Süleyman Akpay, a member of the Municipality's Social Life Center, said, “I participated in the hearing test, which I received information through the municipality's call. I have a problem in my ear, we couldn't go to many doctors because of the pandemic. I can go to another doctor with the information and directions I get from here," he said.
“I DID NOT THINK I NEEDED THIS TEST, WHAT I KNEW CORRECT WAS WRONG”
Kadıköy Hayriye Günay, who said that she benefited from the hearing screening tests at the Municipality Social Life House, continued her words as follows: “I didn't think I needed this test. It was a mistake I knew right. I've been taking hearing tests for three years. Kadıköy Thanks to the municipality, I learned this today. We are also hesitant to go to the doctor. I came here on foot and it was useful for that.”
“MID HEARING LOSS, I WILL EVALUATE THE RESULT”
Saying that she attended the English course at the Social Life House, Sevgi Kızıltan said that she learned the screening test through a text message on her phone and said, “I am attending the English course. I got a message on my phone and we came here. There is a slight hearing loss due to age, we will evaluate this result. I came here because I am close and I thank you for this service.”
“TO BE CLOSE TO MY HOME PROVIDES ADVANTAGE”
Fatma Acar, who has a hearing test, stated that she was satisfied with the tests and said, “Thank you very much. There was no problem in my test result. This is an advantage because it is very close to my house. I can come on foot,” he said.
ABOUT KADIKOY SOCIAL LIFE CENTERS
It started service on December 4, 2013 Kadıköy Municipality Social Life House was established as a place where people over the age of 65 can spend their time. It is a center opened to prevent citizens over the age of 65, most of whom have left their active working life or retired, from staying at home, to create new socializing environments by getting together with their peers, to have a good time and to ensure the continuation of their productivity. The second Social Life House, which was first opened in Sahrayıcedit District, was opened on 21 September 2017 in 19 Mayıs district.
