Continuing its efforts for young people to create a qualified workforce in the field of factory automation, FANUC continued its training and projects in 2021, where it brought robots and university students together. FANUC came together with nearly 1000 engineering students studying in different regions of Turkey in online trainings and various events, and enabled them to gain significant experience in robot programming.

FANUC, one of the world's leading factory automation manufacturers, continued to bring robots to university students in 2021 by maintaining close contact with educational institutions in order to develop a qualified workforce. The online trainings, webinars and various activities offered by FANUC with approximately 1000 students contributed to the preparation of young engineers for business life. Thanks to the trainings, the students who learned the use, mechanical structure and programming of FANUC brand robots also had the opportunity to practice by gaining first-hand experience in robot programming.

With FANUC trainings, students gained experience in robot programming.

FANUC Turkey General Manager Teoman Alper Yiğit said that they continued the necessary activities and trainings in order to contribute to the best preparation of students for business life, and said, “We continued our online training in 2021, when we did not conduct physical trainings for precautionary purposes due to the pandemic. In addition to our university sponsorships, our 'webinar', 'case analysis' and 'tea talk' meetings continued. We reached nearly 2021 engineering students throughout the year. Thanks to our trainings, students gained first-hand experience in robot programming and we received very positive feedback from those who are especially interested in this field. We are very pleased that we were able to introduce robots and robot software to them while they were still students.”

As a result of the trainings, the success of the students was measured

Stating that students are evaluated from different perspectives as a result of the trainings, Yiğit said: “FANUC employees at the universities we are partners with, took charge as trainers and measured the success of the students with mid-term projects or tests. After the case analysis or the training of our ROBOGUIDE software program, we asked the students to open our software free of charge and to draw a factory production simulation, that is, to create a real project. We rewarded the most successful projects with internship opportunities or more detailed advanced training. In addition, students had the opportunity to practice a lot as they downloaded the trial version of the FANUC ROBOGUIDE software program to their computers.”

FANUC will prioritize "education" in 2022

Stating that FANUC's education and other activities at universities will continue to increase in 2022, Yiğit said, “We aim to reach more engineering students at universities with our trainings. We will hold a training session this year with the METU Design Factory, which uses our CRX product in its projects. We are planning a Case Study meeting with ITU OTOKON this year as well. In addition, we have sponsorship of ITU Robot Olympics and we are also sponsors in the drone category. We will be participating in Yıldız Technical University RLC Days as a sponsor this year as well. We have a seminar and training plan with OSTİM Technokent University in Ankara. We will continue our partnership with the robot programming course, which we gave as a CO-OP branded course at Bahçeşehir University last year, in a way that will reach more students.”
