KTJ3200 turbojet engine developed by KALE Group will be delivered. İsmail Demir, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, met with television and newspaper representatives in Ankara to convey the 2021 evaluation and 2022 projects. It was stated that among the targets of the Presidency of Defense Industries for 2022, the KTJ3200 Turbojet engine to be used in SOM and ATMACA missiles will be delivered.

In March 2021, SSB Engine and Powertrain Department Head Mesude Kılınç informed that the tests were completed for the turbojet engine KTJ3200. Kılınç said that the development tests of the KTJ3200 turbojet engine, which was developed to meet the propulsion needs of the KALE Group's national missile platforms such as SOM and ATMACA, have been completed. He also stated that the acceptance tests of the turbojet engine are aimed to be completed in 2021.

Stating that the preparations continue for the mass production of the KTJ3200 turbojet engine, Kılınç said, “It is a very important and very successful project. With the knowledge to be gained here, the KTJ3 will stand out as the base engine for the development of our turbojet engines in the 5-3200 kN range.”

Evaluating the efficiency of the KTJ3200 turbojet engine compared to its foreign counterparts, Kılınç stated that compared to the engines currently used, it is at least as efficient as these engines and it defines better performance conditions for some operations. Mesude Kılınç said, “The KTJ3200 is an engine that has completed its development tests. In this respect, we can compare it with equivalent engines, and in this context, we aim to increase the current operational capabilities.”

KTJ3200 Turbojet Engine

Originally developed by Kale Arge with completely domestic means, the KTJ-3200 is especially suitable for cruise missiles, target aircraft, etc. It is a Turbojet Engine optimized for use on unmanned platforms. With its compact design, it has high thrust, low fuel consumption and can be started at different altitude/speed conditions. The KTJ-3200, which is Turkey's first national Turbojet Engine, has proven its performance in different altitude/speed conditions by using the Altitude Test System in Kale R&D Development and Test Center. Thanks to its superior features, the KTJ-3200 will be able to be adapted to different air platforms with some modifications.
