Stating that Smyrna Car Park got its name from the square where it is located, Mayor Soyer continued his words as follows: “This car park, Bayraklı It will start to serve as the newest value of our district. While taking office, I stated that we would take the necessary steps to solve the parking problem of İzmir immediately. I said that we want to realize investments in multi-storey, underground, automatic and modern parking lots throughout our city. Over the past few years, we have moved step by step towards this goal. We opened the Selvili Car Park in Karabağlar, with a capacity of 20 vehicles and 160 motorcycles, with a cost of approximately 38 million liras. Then, we put the underground car park with a capacity of 153 vehicles into service at the Yeşilyurt Mustafa Necati Cultural Center.
We put into service an underground car park for 824 vehicles at Üçkuyular Transfer Center. In the city, we put into service an open car park with a capacity of 4 thousand 75 vehicles. Together with the Smyrna Car Park with a capacity of 636 vehicles, we have succeeded in putting an indoor and outdoor car park with a capacity of approximately 6 thousand vehicles into the service of our citizens in the last three years. We will continue to build new parking lots throughout the city without interruption.”

Emphasizing that Smyrna Car Park, whose design, software and manufactures are made by local companies, is Turkey's largest and one of the first five largest fully automatic car parks in Europe, Chairman Soyer said, “We have implemented our car park with an investment of 66 and a half million liras. Our 100-meter-high investment, made of steel construction in an area of 44 square meters in Adalet Mahallesi, consists of 18 vehicle parking floors. 12 times are reserved for passenger cars and 6 times are reserved for high vehicles. Smyrna Car Park has a fully autonomous system. With a software with high speed and energy efficiency, 6 vehicles will be able to enter and exit at the same time. Drivers will receive their vehicle in an average of 3 and a half minutes. This region, which also includes the Izmir Courthouse, is one of the new centers of Izmir, which hosts large business centers and offices. We are making this investment to alleviate this intensity. We will continue to work with all our strength to increase the welfare of İzmir and ensure its fair share.”

Stating that their basic principle in every project implemented is to use the resources generated by the taxes of the people in the most efficient way, Mayor Soyer said, “In this process, we directly listen to the demands and priority needs of the people of Izmir. On the one hand, we are solving the parking problem of Izmir in order to manage the traffic of the city. On the other hand, we are starting to commission public transportation lines.
