The latest developments in the fields of humanitarian aid logistics and supply chain will be discussed with the participation of experts in the fields of humanitarian aid logistics at the 'International Disaster and Humanitarian Aid Logistics Congress', which will be held under the sponsorship of Red Crescent Logistics and in cooperation with the Red Crescent Academy and Logistics Association.
“International Disaster and Humanitarian Aid Logistics Congress” will be held online and face-to-face in Istanbul on 09-10-11 February 2022 under the sponsorship of Red Crescent Logistics in cooperation with the Red Crescent Academy and Logistics Association (LODER). At the congress, which will be hosted by the Turkish Red Crescent, current research on humanitarian aid, innovative practices and scientific studies in this field will be discussed in all aspects. The increase in the need for humanitarian aid activities due to crises such as natural and unnatural disasters, migration and epidemics, which are frequently encountered around the world in recent years, make the topics to be discussed in the congress extremely important. The congress, which will be held with the main theme of "Humanitarian Aid Logistics: New Normal and Innovative Approaches", aims to reveal the latest developments in the fields of humanitarian aid logistics and supply chain. In the congress; training seminars, conference and panel sessions, workshop sessions where scientific research results will be presented, focus group meetings where problems in humanitarian aid logistics will be discussed, and technical studies, trips and visits will be held in the fields where humanitarian aid activities are carried out.
Minister of Transport Adil Karaismailoğlu will attend the opening ceremony
At the opening ceremony of the first day of the congress, TR Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, President of AFAD Yunus Sezer, President of the Red Crescent Dr. Kerem Kınık and LODER Logistics Association President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyaş will also make speeches. In addition, names such as TCDD General Manager Metin Akbaş, THY Deputy General Manager Turhan Özen, Istanbul Airport CEO Kadri Samsunlu will also take part as panel speakers in the first day events. On the other hand, during the congress program, speakers from organizations such as the International Federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross Organizations (IFRC), the World Food Program (WFP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) will inform the participants under different topics.
