Union of Marmara Municipalities and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Associate Professor Tahir Büyükakın made statements about the latest status of Gebze OSB - Darıca Beach Metro Project at the AK Party Gebze District Presidency Local Administrations Consultation meeting. “Our Metro project, put forward by our government under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has reached 100 Billion TL with other relevant public investments. Once again, I would like to thank our President, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, and all the officials of our ministry. While the metro project is progressing rapidly, the orders for the vehicles to be used have also been given. The first vehicles will arrive in August of this year, and then the test drives of the vehicles will begin. Hopefully, in the 2023th year of our Republic, that is, in the first months of XNUMX, a part of the line will be put into operation.

Underlining that the Metro project is the largest and most important investment made in a single item for Gebze, Darıca and its region, Mayor Büyükakın said, “The Metro project, which is very important for our Gebze, will start from the OIZs and will reach our Darıca district. Work continues at 11 stations, storage areas and 20 shafts. Today, I would like to express my thanks once again to all the employees who put forth their efforts in that project.” President Büyükakın also said, "Thanks to our Gebze Organized Industrial Zone - Darica Beach Metro Line, we will create an important alternative to the road transportation between Gebze Organized Industrial Zone and Gebze-Darica districts."
