Karaismailoğlu said, "As the AK Party, we have paid special attention to infrastructure investments in the field of transportation since the first day we started to rule our country with the support we received from our nation," said Karaismailoğlu. He also noted that they experience the comfort of increasing their communication investments many times over.

WE STRENGTHEN OUR TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS CAPABILITIES

Underlining that in the last 20 years, Turkey has spent nearly 1 trillion 200 billion liras for the transportation and communication of the nation, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“In this amount, highways take the first place with 711 billion liras. throughout our country; We increased the length of the divided road from 6 kilometers to 100 kilometers, the length of the highway to 28 kilometers, the tunnel length from 550 kilometers to 3 kilometers, and the length of bridges and viaducts from 532 kilometers to 50 kilometers. With our highway investments between 651 and 311, we contributed 724 billion 2003 million TL to the Gross National Product. Likewise, we contributed more than 2020 billion 109 million liras to production. While supporting the growth of our economy with our projects, we have taken important steps to establish holistic development. With the steps we took within the framework of the Transportation and Logistics Master Plan, we are strengthening our transportation and logistics capabilities not only in the East-West axis, but also in the North-South direction. We maintain our determination to make our country a global logistics superpower in the Middle Corridor with our new investments and investment targets. The Northern Marmara Highway, which is also within the borders of Kocaeli, is an important investment that we have completed and put into the service of our nation in this sense. The 250 Çanakkale Bridge, which we will inaugurate on March 237 with the participation of our President on the 539th Anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, will be one of our most important works supporting this goal. With the opening of the 107 Çanakkale Bridge, we will transform our region into a commercial crossroads of the rising Eurasian and African geography.”

TOTAL AMOUNT OF HIGHWAY INVESTMENTS IN KOCAELİ EXCEEDED 10,6 BILLION TL

Underlining that Kocaeli, like every other province, received its deserved share from these investments, which have grown exponentially throughout the country, Karaismailoğlu said that the length of the divided highway, which was 2003 kilometers throughout the province, was increased to 150 kilometers until 366. Noting that they connected Kocaeli to Istanbul, Sakarya, Bursa and Yalova by divided roads, Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, said, “We have increased the length of the hot bituminous paved road in the province from 177 kilometers to 565 kilometers. The rate of divided roads in Kocaeli's highways is 61 percent, which is well above the national average. Between 2003-2022 in Kocaeli; We have completed 184 kilometers of single road construction and improvement. We made 388 kilometers of bituminous hot-coated asphalt. We built 19 tunnels with a total length of 450 meters. The total length of the 5 bridges we built in the same period exceeded 306 meters. While the total cost of highway investments in Kocaeli was only 34 billion 923 million in the 1993-2002 period, we increased this amount by 3 times to 124 billion 2,5 million liras during the period of our governments. The total project cost of our 10 highway projects that are still ongoing throughout the province is over 656 billion TL.

We had planned to finish our project within this year. Unfortunately, our ongoing tender has been canceled by some outbreaks trying to prevent our services to our citizens. We had to stop our work. We started our project again quickly. We will complete this project in the first quarter of 2023 and put it into the service of Kocaeli,” he said.

FOUR LANE DIVIDED ROAD BETWEEN PRISON ENTRANCE AND EXIT INTERSECTIONS

Stating that the Çubuklubala-Çubukluosmaniye Variant and the Prison Variant constitute an important part of the 58,9 kilometer Izmit-Kandıra Road, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“Our Izmit-Kandıra-Kaynarca road, which we have designed as a divided road, is a line where we see serious increases in traffic volume, especially in summer, with the addition of daily traffic. Together with the Çubuklubala-Çubukluosmaniye variant on the line, we completed the 7-kilometer section between the Prison Entrance and Exit Junctions as a four-lane divided road. In the section we opened today; There are 135 bridges with a length of 4 meters, 124 underpasses with a length of 3 meters, 521 culverts with a length of 16 meters, 4 shoring and retaining walls with a length of 334 thousand 13 meters, as well as 4 crossroads with different levels, namely Çubuklubala, Çubukluosmaniye, Prison Entrance and Exit junctions. . We are putting into service a section of 3,3 kilometers in total, of which 4,6 kilometers is the Çubuklubala-Çubukluosmaniye junction and 8 kilometers is the Prison Variant. In this way; We have completed 11 kilometers of the road. İzmit-Kandıra-Kaynarca Road will connect İzmit to Kandıra district and as a divided road over Ağva-Kandıra-Kaynarca-Karasu route. This road project is also important in terms of providing the connection between the Northern Marmara Motorway, Şile-Ağva-Kandıra-Kaynarca-Karasu D-020 axis and TEM Highway and D-100 State Road. We had completed 59 kilometers of the 3,2-kilometer road in previous years. Construction work continues on the 49-kilometer section.”

WHEN THE PROJECT IS COMPLETE, THE ROAD WILL BE SHORTENED 15 KILOMETER

Karaismailoğlu stated that 2020 percent progress has been achieved in the construction of the road, which was tendered in 1 and has a project value of 669 billion 35 million, and that the works between Şile-Ağva-Kandıra are also continuing, and when it is completed, it will be connected as a Şile-Ağva-Kandıra-İzmit divided road. Explaining that they will bring the single road to the divided road standard with the opening of the completed section to traffic, Karaismailoğlu said, “Most importantly, in this way, we increase the traffic safety in transportation and ensure the safety of our citizens. With the entire project put into service; The route will be shortened by 15 kilometers. Travel time will be reduced from 60 minutes to 40 minutes. Thus, a total of 84 million liras will be saved annually, 25,2 million liras from time and 109 million liras from fuel oil. In addition, we will make an important contribution to the protection of the environment and nature, and our nation to breathe a sigh of relief, by reducing carbon emissions by 5 tons.
