Underlining that it is very valuable not to invest with public resources, but to manage education investments together with volunteer stakeholders in education, Özer expressed his gratitude to TOBB, the oldest and most powerful stakeholder of the Ministry of National Education, for its successful work.
Noting that TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking before him, pointed to a point where three students could be given scholarships in 1956, Özer said, “The point reached today is incredible. Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer also made a statement regarding the face-to-face start of the second semester in education on 7 February. Explaining that education in Turkey has been continuing for about 1,5 years with distance education platforms and trying to be with the students in this way, Özer reminded that as of the 2021-2022 academic year, they have resolutely started face-to-face education at all levels, 5 days a week.
Noting that the first semester was concluded without any interruption and a two-week semester break was entered, Özer said that teachers and students made great sacrifices in this process, and that the students listened to the lessons and participated in the activities with masks every day for 5 months.
Pointing out that the teachers, who teach with masks 5 days a week, have made a great contribution to the successful continuation of the process, especially with the high vaccination rates, Mahmut Özer said, “Hopefully, on February 7, that is, on Monday, in 81 provinces, in all our districts, there will be hundreds of people at all grade levels from pre-school to high school. In order to make vocational training attractive, we have implemented a first that was signed during his vice-ministerial term and which accelerated during his ministry. Together with our esteemed Minister, we started the reform movement in vocational education with the Protocol on Cooperation in Vocational Education, which we prepared together with our Ministry of National Education and TOBB ETU.
