İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer announced that 50 percent of the rail laying works in Narlıdere-Fahrettin Altay Metro have been completed, just days before laying the foundation of Buca Metro. President Soyer said, "We are opening the Narlıdere metro in the 100th anniversary of our Republic."

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer announced that 50 percent of the rail laying works in the Narlıdere-Fahrettin Altay Metro have been completed. Mayor Soyer shared on his social media accounts, “We are approaching the end of our Narlıdere Metro works, with only a few days left before we lay the foundations of Buca Metro. We have laid 50 percent of the rails, the rough construction of the stations is finished. We are opening it next year, on the 100th anniversary of our Republic.”

Ergenekon: “Our tunnel works have been completed”

Mehmet Ergenekon, Head of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Rail Systems Department, gave information about the works and said: “We started serious rail system investments this term in line with our President Tunç Soyer's vision for sustainable transportation. The construction of Çiğli Tram continues. We will lay the foundation of Buca Metro on February 14. Project studies of Karabağlar-Gaziemir, Kemalpaşa-Otogar Metro and Örnekköy-New Girne Tram continue. Next year we will begin to bear the fruits of these. Tunnel works have been completed in Narlıdere Metro. We continue to lay rails quickly. We will have completed the rails in 4-5 months. Station work continues at a rapid pace. We finished the rough construction of 3 stations and started the fine workmanship. The rough construction of 2 stations continues. We will start at 2 stations. Electromechanical productions and signaling works continue. We aim to grow them quickly by the end of the year. Our aim is to start test drives in the first three months of next year,” he said.

12 percent of the manufacturing works on the Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere Metro line, which was at the level of 87 percent when President Tunç Soyer took over, has been completed.
