Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that the Experimental Turkey Project was designed to make young people in Turkey love science and technology, to reduce their enthusiasm in these fields and to educate them about the technologies of the future.
Varank watched the Experimental Turkey Project Application Exams held at Taha Akgül Sports Hall, participated in the evaluation with the jury and received information about the designs.
Minister Varank, in a statement to reporters, said that the project in question was designed to "enjoy science and technology among young people and students in Turkey, to reduce their enthusiasm in these fields and to educate them about the technologies of the future".
Reminding that they announced the Experimental Turkey Project in the first 100-day Program of the Presidential Government System, Varank said:
“We announced that we would establish 2023 Experimental Turkey Technology Workshops in 81 provinces in Turkey by the end of 100. Within the scope of that project, we established technology workshops in 30 cities in the first two phases. Here, our secondary and high school students receive training on breakthrough technologies in the future, such as design, programming, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, in different categories. In this context, we are opening 27 more Experimental Technology Workshops in 36 different cities during this period.”
Emphasizing that the students who will study in the workshops are determined through applied exams, Varank stated that the exams are held in two stages.
Explaining that students first took the written exam via e-exam, Varank shared the following information:
“About 27 thousand of our students took the exam for our 80 cities. Our 16 thousand students who are successful in these exams also take this practice exam, which we call the second stage. Students who are successful in these exams will also start their education at Experiap Technology Workshops. In addition to learning the technologies of the future, our workshops also provide important contributions to our children regarding the development of their personalities. Our students who study here learn to think critically and critically, and to express themselves better. In this sense, we make significant contributions to our students.”
Varank stated that they chose a different category in the practice exam to draw attention to awareness in the world this year, and stated that in this sense, climate change is one of the most important agendas of the world.
Emphasizing that it is necessary to stop climate change in order to make the world sustainable, Varank said, “The way to do this is through renewable energy, not fossil fuels. In this practice exam, we ask our students to make a design in which they can use wind energy. Our students have been trying to complete these designs for 2 hours. They will appear in front of the jury, and our successful students will begin their education in the workshops.” said.
Underlining that they attach great importance to the project, Varank said that they continue the Experimental Turkey Project with the Ministry of Industry and Technology and its subsidiary TÜBİTAK, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation on the non-governmental side.
Explaining that with these 4 important pennies, technology trainings were given to young people all over Turkey, Varank said:
“I hope we will reach our target of 81 provinces by opening new workshops in the upcoming period. This year, we will give our graduates from the workshops we opened for the first time. This year, we will have given the first graduates from Experiap Technology Workshops at Teknofest. Let our parents, who know that workshops have been established in 27 provinces, should follow this program, bring their children to the Experimental Turkey Workshop exams, let us evaluate our students there and train them as scientists and important engineers of the future. These provinces are Aksaray, Ankara, Aydın, Balikesir, Batman, Bingol, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakir, Erzincan, Giresun, Hatay, Istanbul, Karaman, Kars, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kilis, Kocaeli, Kütahya, Mardin, Mersin, Ordu, Sivas, Sirnak, Tekirdag and Van.
