Pointing out that the tourism sector cannot develop only with infrastructure works, İmamoğlu said, “Tourism demands peace. Tourism demands peace. Tourism wants justice, it wants democracy, it wants freedom. It wants an understanding that can see every environment in 360 degrees and a perspective that can embrace these differences; only then can we reach the point we desire worldwide. All these are in the genetics of the people of this country. There are all these feelings in the civilization in these lands. Noting that he believes that Istanbul will definitely reach the point it deserves, İmamoğlu emphasized that their aim is to host around 20-25 million tourists in the city annually. Emphasizing that providing an income of 1.500 dollars per person from each tourist means that tourism reaches the place it deserves in Istanbul, İmamoğlu said: said. After the opening, İmamoğlu toured the stands participating in EMITT. Visiting more than 30 stands, including countries, provinces, districts and institutions, İmamoğlu met with intense interest from the participants. There were colorful moments during the visits of İmamoğlu, who tasted local delicacies and experienced the productions of handicraftsmen.
