The relations between Turkey and Ukraine, which are strategic partners, especially in the field of defense industry, are moving to a different stage. During President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Ukraine, the “Framework Agreement for Cooperation between the Republic of Turkey and Ukraine in the Fields of Advanced Technologies, Aviation and Space” was implemented.

With the agreement, special incentives will be provided for the investments of Turkish companies in the fields of advanced technology, aviation and space in Ukraine. Within the framework of the agreement signed by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, various tax exemptions will be brought to Turkish companies until 2035.

Defense Aviation and Space Cluster – SAHA Istanbul President Haluk Bayraktar pointed out that the agreement will take the relations between the two countries to a further level and said, “The agreement is a very important step for the creation of a joint project development and investment climate between the two countries, rather than buying and selling anymore. The Ukrainian state is creating a shield for the investments of all Turkish companies in the fields of high technology and aviation.” said.

STRATEGIC VISIT

President Erdoğan paid an official visit to Ukraine for the 10th Meeting of the High Level Strategic Council between Turkey and Ukraine. Within the scope of the visit, the "Framework Agreement for Cooperation between the Republic of Turkey and Ukraine in the Fields of Advanced Technologies, Aviation and Space" was signed between the two countries, which are strategic partners.

IT WILL RISE TO THE HIGH LEVEL

Under the supervision of President Erdoğan and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Minister of Industry and Technology Varank and Minister of Defense of Ukraine Aleksey Reznikov signed the agreement. With the agreement, relations between the two countries will be raised to the next level.

IMPORTANT INCENTIVES

Thanks to the agreement, significant incentives will be provided to Turkish companies that will invest in Ukraine in the fields of high technology, aviation and space. Joint working areas between the two countries will be expanded. Favorable conditions will be created for the efficient use of production, scientific and technical potential. It will be possible to improve the investment environment of Turkish companies in the high technology and aviation industry.

VALID UNTIL 2035

With the entry into force of the agreement, corporate tax, value added tax and customs tax exemptions will be provided to Turkish investments until 2035. A number of important opportunities such as customs and tax incentives will be offered to investing Turkish companies.

HIGH TECHNOLOGY

SAHA Istanbul President Haluk Bayraktar said that this agreement will carry the economic relations, trade volume and high technology development efforts of the two countries, which are strategic partners, to a much further point.

Noting that the agreement will bring customs and tax exemptions, Bayraktar said, “The two countries have a lot to learn from each other in areas where they specialize in different layers of technology. We believe that with the agreement, very important projects will be developed in the near future that will make a name for itself on the world stage.” he said.

11 YEARS OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

On January 25, 2011, a joint declaration was signed between Turkey and Ukraine on the establishment of the High Level Strategic Council, which brought the two countries to the level of strategic partners. President Erdoğan attended the 10th meeting of the council in Kiev. At the meeting, Turkey-Ukraine relations at the strategic partnership level will be reviewed in all its dimensions, and the possibilities of further deepening the cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
