Fevkani Bridge, which was built 64 years ago, is planned to be demolished by 15 August 2022. Demolition work on the bridge is expected to take a month.

In the report prepared by METU in 2014, attention was paid to the maintenance and repair of the bridge; It was closed to traffic in 2012 due to risk. Mayor Selim Alan stated that the bridge, which was opened for use by vehicles up to 3 and 3,5 tons in 30, provided that the speed does not exceed 2014 kilometers, should be demolished urgently due to the danger of sudden collapse, and that they want to start the demolition process by 15 August 2022.

We are now preparing the demolition specification for the bridge. A report was presented by METU. The room was forwarded to our provincial directorate of the environment. It was considered a risky structure. There is no question of strengthening the bridge. It needs to be demolished as soon as possible. We will talk to our tradesmen under the bridge in March. We will invite them. We will provide them with rental assistance facilities. We plan to finish our Business Center project as soon as possible. It will be a privilege for them in the Business Center. We don't want to hurt any of our friends. We promised them. We will give our friends 4-5 months for the bridge and ask them to complete their trade and be evacuated. We do not want to exceed 15 August. The demolition will take 1 month. Then we want to consider alternatives to infrastructure and superstructure connection roads.”
