The history of the third 'Goodness Train', consisting of 62 containers of food, clothing and hygiene materials provided under the coordination of AFAD, was sent off with a ceremony held at Ankara Train Station before the Afghanistan expedition. Deputy Minister of Interior İsmail Çataklı, General Manager of TCDD Transportation Hasan Pezük, AFAD President Governor Yunus Sezer and representatives of non-governmental organizations attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Interior Çataklı said that they knew the difficulty of the situation in Afghanistan: “This is a part of our heartland. We have a bond of love that comes from the depths of history. Therefore, in such a situation, it would have been expected that our country would be the first to come to their aid, support and shoulder them, and the richness of our nation's heart would necessitate this. For this reason, we are not the representatives of an understanding that makes very long words, makes promises, holds meetings and fails to get a result, like some. This organization also shows that our nation knows how to share and deliver its bread wherever there is an oppressed in the world. It delivers everything by plane, by ship, by train. In the past, we transported it on horseback, with an oxcart. The first two arrived, as you know. Distributions were also made. Our AFAD Presidency also makes the necessary plans. Preparations for the 4th expedition have also been completed. Hopefully more to come.” said.

Speaking at the farewell ceremony, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. General Manager Hasan Pezük said, “As railwaymen, it is a very different happiness for us to be involved in aid operations for our brothers in Afghanistan and to carry out the organizations for the transportation of necessities. Previously, we had sent the first of our goodness trains on two separate trains with 46 wagons and a total of 750 tons of aid materials. He arrived in Afghanistan by completing a total of 4 kilometers on the Turkey-Iran and Turkmenistan tracks in 168 days. Our second group of goodness trains arrived in Afghanistan in 12 days with two separate trains, 45 containers and a total of 921 tons of material. Today, we will send off our third group of goodness trains with 12 containers, 62 tons of cargo and three separate trains. Together with these trains, we will have delivered a total of 994 wagons, 46 of which are closed, and 153 containers and 107 tons of aid materials. Thankfully, the number of our kindness trains and the amount of aid they carry is increasing day by day.” used the expressions.
